The title of this article says just about everything I am going to discuss. That said, many people may be surprised wondering how gaming poses a danger to people. The concept of protecting yourself physically and mentally while gaming is challenging to understand. Gaming is not perceived to be harmful to human beings. It is not like the conventional sporting activities where bones can be broken. Gaming is also not like cooking where you can burn yourself nor is it a test that could put you under stress. But just because you do not perceive any danger posed by gaming, it does not mean that there aren’t any underlying threats. In this article, I shall discuss some of the threats posed by gaming and how to combat them.

Avid gamers concentrate on ways they can protect themselves from hackers and cyber criminals but do little to protect themselves from gaming. Some of the physical plights that can creep on you while you are gaming is bad posture. This is caused by sitting in front of the console for many hours. Unlike many other physical conditions, bad posture does not affect you immediately. Bad posture results to back and neck issues as you get older. To avoid this physical problem, you are advised to look for a comfortable gaming desk and ergonomic. A comfortable gaming desk will surely help you avoid fatigue now, and a bad and in the future.

It is also important to shield yourself from mental issue when gaming. Video games can be addictive. Some common symptoms of addiction are restlessness especially when you are not able to play. Even when you are not playing your mind is preoccupied with gaming. You go to the extent of lying about your behaviour to your friends and family. If you have these symptoms you need to realize that you have a problem that needs to be dealt with. It is important to understand that games are not meant to be completed. Every game is created so that players can fail so failure should not preoccupy your mind.

If you are too much dependent on gaming, take time and investigate why. Some games make you feel like you cannot achieve success. Remember that it is not real life, and you cannot get hang up on it. Always fight the physical and mental plights of gaming because they are dangerous. However, this is not to mean that you cannot have fun gaming, you just have to be aware of the possible side effects to that you can control them.
